The analysed data showed that second and third infections spiked between December 2021 and January 2022.</span>\r\n<h4>Heightened risk</h4>\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This study follows one done by </span><a href=\"https://www.discovery.co.za/corporate/health-insights-omicron-outbreak-analysis\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Discovery Health</span></a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which investigated reinfection risks before Omicron came on the scene. This was 5% lower than the previous week.</span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The number of PCR tests to confirm infection also dropped by about 6% from the previous week and has been decreasing.</span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The percentage of people testing positive for the virus was the highest in Limpopo (9.6%) and North West (6.1%). This was 5% lower than the previous week.</span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The number of PCR tests to confirm infection also dropped by about 6% from the previous week and has been decreasing.</span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The percentage of people testing positive for the virus was the highest in Limpopo (9.6%) and North West (6.1%).
