According to the</span><a href=\"https://www.dailymaverick.co.za/article/2021-07-25-anatomy-of-a-rigged-contract-digital-vibes-tender-deeply-flawed-unlawful-and-invalid-says-siu/\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Special Investigating Unit</span></a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (SIU) that process was “deeply flawed, unlawful and invalid”. The scope of the contract then expanded to include communication around Covid-19.</span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Buthelezi, who started as health DG in June 2020, wasn’t involved in awarding Digital Vibes its initial contract or the tens of millions the company was paid during the first half of 2020.
