"contents": "\r\n<p>\"Preparations should be rushed to completion in the hurricane warning area,\" the NHC said in its 1200 GMT bulletin.</p>\r\n<p>The monster hurricane, the most powerful of the five-level Saffir-Simpson scale, is about 270 miles (440 <g class=\"gr_ gr_21 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling multiReplace\" id=\"21\" data-gr-id=\"21\">kilometers</g>) east of the island of Antigua packing maximum sustained winds of 175 miles (280 <g class=\"gr_ gr_22 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling multiReplace\" id=\"22\" data-gr-id=\"22\">kilometers</g>) per hour.</p>\r\n<p>Irma is expected to make landfall along the string of French islands that includes Guadeloupe late Tuesday before heading to Haiti and Florida.</p>\r\n<p>The storm was moving towards the west at 14 miles (22 <g class=\"gr_ gr_18 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling multiReplace\" id=\"18\" data-gr-id=\"18\">kilometers</g>) per <g class=\"gr_ gr_17 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Punctuation only-del replaceWithoutSep\" id=\"17\" data-gr-id=\"17\">hour,</g> and is expected to drop between four and eight inches (10 and 20 <g class=\"gr_ gr_19 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling multiReplace\" id=\"19\" data-gr-id=\"19\">centimeters</g>) of rain when it hits land. </p>\r\n<p>\"These rainfall amounts may cause life-threatening flash floods and mudslides,\" the NHC warned.</p>\r\n<p>The storm is also is expected to \"cause life-threatening surf and rip current conditions.\"</p>\r\n<p>Irma, which has triggered alarm and alerts from the French West Indies to Florida, comes after of Hurricane Harvey devastated parts of Texas and Louisiana late last month.
