Joburg is a giant pothole

Lots of moans and groans , hear them all the time ! On and on and on ! Yet not one single plan or idea of how to change things , zip, nada , zilch ! So the crooks keep feeding at the trough and never get fired . I have mooted one idea several times in various fora . Maybe I should take to twitter ? Given the underwhelming response so far am not expecting much ! Some have correctly commented that all those in government service are employees of the tax and ratepayers . Not paying tax is almost unavoidable . Paying rates are ! As you correctly mention 'Johannesburg Ratepayers' who begrudgingly cough up the $$$ on a monthly basis . So, imagine , if say all the Jhb Ratepayers formed their own 'group ' , which could lead to a Gauteng ratepayers group . Say 500k and more ratepayers work as one ? Month A , instead of paying the rates , you load up with enough electricity for 2-3 months ? Month A payday has passed . Month B , again no rates paid ! A gaping hole appears in the council trough ! Oh dear , what can they do ? And how long will it take ? Given how long it takes to fix a pot hole ? Month C just sees more 'non ratepayers ' joining in . Now the trough is empty and broken ! By now its hitting the pockets of our 'employees' , both good and useless . 'You are required to pay rates ' quid pro quo, we expect delivery of services and a clean audit by the AG ! 'Ag shame , what about the subsidised poor ' , they are in the same boat . How is service delivery working for them ? With clean , efficient councils , slowly the mis spent billions will filter back into their communities . I have only one voice , multiply that a few million times :-) Hopefully in time to be registered as a new party , contesting local elections . by the time nationals come back ? Non racial group takes control ! Would have no need to pay consultants , they will work 'pro bono ' as a group :-) In their own interest :-) Even Status Quo changed over the years , one of my likes after seeing them live late 60s . The past is done and dusted . Only the CCP is currently changing history . A 'better life for all ' is only a better life for a few ! are their enough to 'Carpe Diem' in time ? Sadly , most of the masses , taxpayers or not are seriously apathetic about the 'status quo' . Motivate them and run the country ! Soon South Africa , much later the world :-) I do not seek financial gains , a small pension and med aid will be fine . No blue light brigade ! I prefer to drive myself ! Who else better to be the head honcho ? Than the guy that came up with the idea ? President for life , not for me , 4 years is enough . By then it could have spread globally :-) Nobel ' Peace Prize ' ? Elected 'President of Earth ' 2026 ? ish . Clearly , someone has to do something , Earth is not in a great place .
