Lockdown Recipe of the Day: Golden Oats Cookies
Oats, golden syrup and lots of butter make these a sweet tea time treat. You can enjoy them within half an hour of deciding to make them.

Ingredients

150 g oats

150 g flour

2 tsp baking powder

150 g butter

3 Tbs golden syrup

2 tsp milk

2 Tbs cooking oil

Method

Preheat the oven to 180℃. 

Put butter, golden syrup, and milk in a pot and heat until butter is melted, stirring. 

Sift the flour into a bowl, add oats and baking powder, mix, then pour in the contents of the pot and form it into a dough ball with your hands.

It will be quite crumbly, so add a little oil until it is no longer crumbly (I added about 2 Tbs).

Grease an oven sheet. Break off chunks of dough and roll them into balls, then place on the oven pan and pat down to form a roundish biscuit shape.

Bake for about 12 minutes. They’re great with a nice cup of tea. DM/TGIFood
