Ramaphosa’s Farmgate scandal – a timeline of what we know (and don’t know) so far

Here are the latest developments on Thursday, 28 November 2024:

  • On Tuesday, 26 November, the Constitutional Court heard an EFF and African Transformation Movement (ATM) challenge to the National Assembly’s vote against taking action on the Section 89 independent panel report on the cash-in-couch allegations against President Cyril Ramaphosa.

  • The red berets are asking the ConCourt to declare the National Assembly’s decision not to adopt the report irrational and unlawful, and set it aside.

  • The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has decided that President Ramaphosa – or anyone else for that matter – will not be prosecuted in relation to the Phala Phala case. The case stems from the criminal complaint laid by the former head of the State Security Agency, Arthur Fraser, in June 2022.

Fraser is known for his Honesty and for not embelishing anything? Why would Squirel hide money in a couch its a fancy game farm with more than one safe not a shack, this is all a set up, nobody actually saw the dollars.

Gosh Ms. Regan, with respect, this story is a few years old already. Who still cares who've done it, why, how, and how a certain Fraser knew about it. Nothing will ever be done, by anybody, NPA, police, voters, and a host of others. News have moved on, or do we need to go back to Piet Retief or Jan van Riebeeck

This only mentions the USD580,000 from the sale of buffalo…what about the approximately $140 million (roughly R2 billion at 2020 exchange rates) that was purportedly transported from Waterkloof Air Force Base to Phala Phala and stored there for more than a month prior to the theft in February? That part of the story seems to have been swept under the carpet and forgotten about since it has never been mentioned again.
