They have names. Basadi ba fela being killed by drunk and VERY SOBER men! #LockdownSA.” The tweet received 234 retweets and 1,100 likes. @SaneSidimba asked for the death penalty to be reinstated: “There’s no use in President Ramaphosa calling all the names of GBV victims, something needs to be done! Bring back the death penalty.” The tweet received 28 retweets and 250 likes.</span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Artist </span><a href=\"https://twitter.com/Boity/status/1273320712942600192\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">@Boity</span></a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> supported the President’s comments on gender-based violence: “Yes. GBV is a pandemic in South Africa! A WAR against women and children.” The tweet received over 4,000 likes, 987 retweets and 50 comments. One of her Twitter followers, </span><a href=\"https://twitter.com/AviweTshangana/status/1273321356340445187\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">@AviweTshangana</span></a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, commented: “It’s not even a war because one party is not fighting back. It’s a genocide. SA men want us dead.”</span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Meanwhile, black women in the US have called out J Cole for his insensitive lyrics asking women to be more patient with men, shortly after news of the murder of two black women went viral. </span><a href=\"https://twitter.com/ashleighdjay/status/1273236730179735552\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">@ashleighdjay</span></a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> said men were not being proactive and educating themselves on women’s issues: “Baby, we’re at war. He is also the president of the African National Congress (ANC), the ruling party in South Africa. He founded the Shanduka Group, a diversified investment company, and served as its chairman until 2012. Ramaphosa was also a non-executive director of several major South African companies, including Standard Bank and MTN.\r\n\r\nIn 2012, Ramaphosa returned to politics and was elected as deputy president of the ANC. He was elected president of the ANC in 2017, and became president of South Africa in 2018.\r\n\r\nCyril Ramaphosa is a popular figure in South Africa. He is seen as a moderate and pragmatic leader who is committed to improving the lives of all South Africans. He has pledged to address the country's high levels of poverty, unemployment, and inequality. He has also promised to fight corruption and to restore trust in the government.\r\n\r\nRamaphosa faces a number of challenges as president of South Africa. The country is still recovering from the legacy of apartheid, and there are deep divisions along racial, economic, and political lines. The economy is also struggling, and unemployment is high.
