"contents": "\r\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt;\">The 84-year-old Nobel Peace laureate \"admitted himself to a Cape Town hospital today for treatment to a recurring infection,\" said Thandeka Tutu-Gxashe in a statement.</span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt;\">\"He is expected to remain in hospital for a week or two,\" she added.</span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt;\">The much-loved anti-apartheid activist \"underwent similar treatment last year,\" Tutu-Gxashe said.</span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt;\">Tutu was hospitalised three times in 2015 over a persistent infection that his foundation -- the Desmond &amp; Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation -- said was a result of the prostate cancer treatment he has been receiving for nearly 20 years.</span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt;\">The last time he was admitted to hospital was in August last year, a stay that lasted just over two weeks.</span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt;\">His other daughter, Reverend Canon Mpho Tutu-van Furth, on Tuesday delivered a speech on his behalf at a human rights conference in Johannesburg, mentioning that he was not feeling very well.</span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt;\">Tutu, who is the former archbishop of Cape Town, this year celebrated the 40th anniversary of his priesthood.</span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt;\">He received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1984, gaining worldwide prominence for his strong opposition to South Africa's apartheid regime.</span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt;\">sn/su/mfp</span></p>\r\n\r\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 12pt;\">© 1994-2016 Agence France-Presse</span></p>",
