The following year she wrote a book based on her experiences called </span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Soul Sister</span></i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which sold over a million copies. This bizarre history is the starting point of a collaboration between </span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Radio Diaries </span></i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and </span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Code Switch </span></i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to explore the fraught history and limits of white empathy.
