Hlaudi Motsoeneng, after Icasa ruling: ‘We are not going to change anything’ 



The Independent Communications Authority of SA (ICASA) on Monday ordered the SABC to scrap its policy on violent protests, but, typically, the public broadcaster remains committed to its controversial position and will challenge the ruling in court. The ANC is trying to intervene, but will only announce its latest position in a media briefing on Tuesday. By GREG NICOLSON.

North Korea keeping nuke site open


New satellite imagery by Johns Hopkins University in the United States has revealed North Korean activity at its nuclear test site. Announced late on Monday, the imagery shows a hive of activity at the country's Punggye-ri Nuclear Test Site, including equipment, vehicles and several mine carts. It's unclear, however, whether another test is imminent. Read More
















New British PM on Wednesday


Theresa May will be sworn in as Britain's prime minister on Wednesday. Prime Minister David Cameron made the announcement after all other Conservative Party contenders withdrew from the running. Cameron's lapel mic, meanwhile, caught the current PM singing to himself after making the announcement. Read more
















Aerosmith's Perry collapses


Aerosmith's guitarist, Joe Perry, has collapsed mid-concert while performing with Alice Cooper on vocals and Hollywood star Johnny Depp as fellow guitarist in his side band, Hollywood Vampires. Perry is believed to be recovering well. So well, it seems, that the Vampires will continue with their scheduled tours, starting with today's gig.  Read more
















Bethlehem shrine to be opened to public


Major restoration work at the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank has brought a key part of the shrine back to life. The discovery of a massive angel mural was made through painstaking restoration of its mosaic work but further work is being hampered by limited funding. Read more
