Cruz beats Trump in Iowa
Ted Cruz has thumped Donald Trump in the Iowa caucus. Winning 28 percent of the vote to the orange menace's 24, Cruz now has a firm foothold on the Republican primaries. Marco Rubio followed in third place with a cool 23 percent, making him a clear leader among the establishment Republicans. Regardless, the bitter taste of defeat could prove more telling for Trump than all of the previous year's bluster.

Clinton leads Sanders
At the time of writing Bernie Sanders was building a strong momentum behind Hillary Clinton, who is leading. Sanders had gained a clear majority in terms of social media, with over 15,000 new subscribers, the largest of any candidate at the moment. Although Clinton currently leads with just a few hours left to vote, the older Sanders was gaining significant ground.

Yahoo to cut jobs
Yahoo has announced a 15 percent cut in jobs. CEO of the tech giant, Marissa Mayer, announced the layoffs, totalling around 1,600 jobs, along with the closing of several business units. The announcement on Monday preceded today's Q4 earnings declaration, which is likely not going to paint a happy picture.

Jim Furyk's Masters hopes dashed
Jim Furyk will likely be missing this year's Masters. Furyk will have to undergo wrist surgery to remedy an ongoing problem. The Tour Championship and the President's Cup are also out while the 17-time winner completely regains his health. Furyk is expected to be out for at least three months.
