Erdo?an declares state of emergency


Addressing the Turkish people on Wednesday night, President Tayyip Erdo?an declared a three-month state of emergency. Although shorter than the 15-year state of emergency maintained until 2002, the announcement was rather extreme. Regardless, a travel ban on academics and over 50,000 arrests are cause for concern. Read more
















Saudi bans Pokémon Go


Haters of everything fun, the Saudi Arabian Permanent Committee for Scholarly Research has revived a 2001 fatwa banning Pokémon. Damning the game for its dastardly insinuation that evolution is a thing, promoting gambling, and generally encouraging deviant youths to join Satan's fiery embrace, Saudi kids and kids-at-heart should not expect the fatwa to be overturned anytime soon. Read more
















New dinosaur discovered


An 80-million-year-old fossil has been discovered in Patagonia, unveiling an entirely new carnivorous dinosaur. Known as 'Murusraptor barrosaensis', the fossil belongs to the 'Giant Thieves' type of species. Additionally, the Murusraptor is a member of the megaraptoids family, also commonly known as the best-named dinosaur family to belong to. Read More
















Tesla unveiled plans for new vehicles


Elon Musk announced on Wednesday intentions to develop a bus and pick-up truck. Stressing the need for the world to move to electric vehicles, Tesla intends to unveil early stage versions of these vehicles in 2018. Self-driving technology for said vehicles, Musk stressed, was the next logical step. Read more
