Zuma’s True Expendables 



In politics, the only people who don't look to the future are those right at the top of the greasy pole. Everyone else is vying for position, thinking about how to get themselves there. Along the way, they make alliances, and hitch themselves to the wagons of those they think will move them up in the world. When wagons aren't available, they use tsunamis. The particular tsunami we are living through has picked up some interesting characters. People who have helped President Jacob Zuma, done his bidding, aided and abetted him in what is effectively dismantling of Mandela's ANC and South Africa. Attack in Pakistan kills 44


At least 44 people have been killed after Taliban-linked militants attacked a police training college near Quetta. Three attackers stormed the sleeping quarters of the barracks after killing the sentry on watch. A responding force took three hours to secure the academy. Read More
















UN chief urges SA to reconsider ICC decision


UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has expressed his hope that South Africa reconsider its decision to pull out of the International Criminial Court (ICC). SA, one of the first countries ever to sign it, is stuck in the moral 'moer in' created by government. But it's not all gloom and doom. Knight sues Dr Dre


Marion 'Suge' Knight  has laid charges against Dr Dre, accusing the rap icon of trying to kill him. Knight, who is currently in jail for possibly running over and killing a colleague in a parking lot, is also suing Chris Brown for a lack of security at a party where he was shot. Knight, it seems, has a lot of suing to do. Read More
















Du Toit named Player of the Year


Springbok lock Pieter-Steph du Toit was hailed as South African Player of the Year at an annual awards event held in Johannesburg. Du Toit's performance for the Stormers and the Boks was what ultimately helped him edge out his competition, namely Lood de Jager. That, and not being injured for an entire season, for once.
