The ANC in 2016: Pushing. Shoving. Hurting. 



The chaos currently swirling inside the ANC found physical expression on Monday as members of the #OccupyLuthuliHouse movement came face to face with members of the Umkhonto we Sizwe Military Veterans Association. There were ugly scenes; pushing, jostling, shoving and swearing – some of it directed by Umkhonto members, in plain view of video cameras, at working journalists. It was the ugly face of what some parts of the ANC have become. But we shouldn’t be surprised. And we shouldn’t be surprised when it happens again. American media mogul John Malone and his Liberty Media Group look set to buy a controlling stake in Formula 1. The group initially intends to purchase 10-15 percent of Formula 1, or roughly $1.3 billion-$2.7 billion, with an eye to a share of 35 or so percent, worth almost four times the initial amount. Major Mexican cartel leader nabbed


Martin Guadencio Avendano Ojeda , a lieutenant in the Sinaloa drug cartel in Mexico, has been arrested. After authorities found Ojeda in his crashed vehicle, he was arrested for an outstanding 2011 warrant. Following the arrest of "El Chapo" in January, it appears to be hard days ahead for the Sinaloa cartel.Read More 
















Clinton speaks up


After most of a year passing before giving an official press conference, Hillary Clinton has spoken up. Addressing ongoing "grave" concerns over Russian intelligence meddling during the election campaign, Clinton expressed worry both about the Russians and about Trump encouraging the Russians. History made for Williams


Serena Williams achieved 308 Grand Slam wins overnight, becoming the highest of any professional player and surpassing Roger Federer's record. Williams attributed much of this to the length of her career. Andy Murry, meanwhile, defeated Bulgaria's Grigor Dimitrov 6-1, 6-2, 6-2 to reach the Open's quarter-finals.
