Khalid Mather
Khalid Mather is an environmental activist from Stanger in KwaZulu-Natal, the Advocacy Coordinator at WILDOCEANS and a participant in the Green Connection Legacy Programme. The Green Connection works with small-scale fishers and coastal communities to promote the protection of our oceans, especially from oil and gas drilling. As part of its #WhoStoleOurOceans initiative, it is raising awareness about issues of human rights, to empower small-scale fishing communities – historically marginalised and ignored – to confidently engage with decision-makers on issues that affect them and their livelihoods.
