S Fakir & G Pienaar
Saliem Fakir heads up the new think-tank within WWF. Its main focus is to think about a different type of economy for South Africa. Gary Pienaar is research manager in the HSRCs Democracy, Governance and Service Delivery Programme. He holds a law degree from Wits University and a masters degree in policy studies from Stellenbosch, has practiced as an advocate at the Johannesburg Bar, and was the first Western Cape provincial representative of the public protector. He worries a lot about democracy, governance and fairness, and (without prompting from The Donald) spends quite a bit of his time trying to deploy Kiplings six soldiers to help understand what on earth is going on.
